Carlos played his violin at the half-time show for the Purdue-Oregon game. We got media passes, so we were able to enjoy watching the game from the field!!
Here is a picture with the coveted media pass.

Before the game at the 50 (or 49th) yard line. It was a gorgeous day...minus the 90 degrees and humidity!
Here you can see our "usual" seats--up in one of the boxes. We have been so spoiled! We also got to go to the press box and enjoy their wonderful food and air conditioning. (The only way to watch a football game! Unless you're on the field!)
We weren't able to hit the drum, but they did allow us to take a picture with it.
Carlos during the half-time show. He played part of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" with another violinist from the band. Despite some technical difficulties, we still had a ball! (Note: the professional quality of this picture, I didn't take it :))
Even though they ended up losing, we had a blast at the game. I'm one-step closer to achieving my dream of being the line-backer coach. j/k
Just 2 short weeks later, Carlos and I drove to South Bend to watch the Purdue-Notre Dame game at the beautiful Notre Dame Stadium. We didn't exactly get the same red carpet feel (notice the location of our seats), but what a thrill just to be inside the stadium! My brothers were crazy jealous!
Here's Carlos who in a very Carlos-like way was able to make friends with everyone around us before leaving--even though we were cheering for the opposing team! Carlos had to keep me from chanting "Rudy! Rudy! on multiple occasions."
Note: our very similar game-day apparel. Apparently we're lacking in our Purdue paraphernalia! Once again, Purdue gave the game away, and we lost, soundly! I think we're bad luck for them. We loved our trip there, though. It's a gorgeous campus! And it was fun to see more of the city where Carlos grew up.
But after all these crazy football experiences, all I can say is:
Go Cougars!!!!!
Go Cougars!!!!!
