Chicago Style

This year we spent our anniversary in Chicago...it was very fun. Carlos worked most of the day while I went to the outlet mall. That night we saw Ice Age 3, discovered the very tasty cuisine of Red Mango, and enjoyed a romantic walk along a canal somewhere nearby. Of course, we never get pictures of the two of us...at least not ones that turn out.
We were also in Chicago to enjoy the 3rd of July festivities. Yes, 3rd of July--they do fireworks on the 3rd and 4th. We went to the Field Museum for most of the day. We loved it, there was way too much to see. Here were a few of our favorite exhibits or at least the few we took pictures of...

We attempted to attend the Taste of Chicago but quickly lost our appetites amid the masses of people. (Note: do not try to go there the same day as the firework show). After that we walked down to Navy Pier where we saw Cirque de Shanghai. Incredible! My favorite part was the ballerina who stood on her partner's head (on her point shoe) while her other leg was perfectly straight above her head doing the splits. Carlos won't let me try that one at home. We had to leave early to see the firework show so we missed the finale. The fireworks were great though--you can never get enough fireworks!

Here is Carlos at Navy Pier--we watched the fireworks from here over the lake, they were beautiful!

Glad you had a great time. I think Chicago is such a fun place to go. I've yet to attempt "Taste of Chicago" maybe next year.
